Dirk Nowitzki had perhaps the most efficient night in NBA Playoffs history, scoring 48 points on 15 field goal attempts. He went 24-24 from the free throw line, and hit 12 of those 15 shots from the floor. It was an unprecedented, electric performance. The shot chart (taken from ESPN.com's box score) is further evidence of how nasty Nowitzki was on Tuesday.
Nowitzki definitely loves the right baseline; he torched Serge Ibaka and Nick Collison with 7-8 shooting from the area, and drew a few fouls over there too. By the end of the game, with Ibaka looking shell-shocked by Dirk's refusal to miss, Nowitzki seemed to be almost playing with the defender.
Nowitzki's final bucket came from this spot, with Dirk doing about 13 small head-fakes, each one of which sent Ibaka's hand up to defend. Dirk eventually went straight up ... and sunk the jumper right over Serge. There was nothing Ibaka or any other Thunder defender could do. There was nothing the U.S. military could do had they got involved. Nowitzki was just unstoppable.
