Stay connected with SB Nation

After a slow start to the game, the Chicago Bulls lead the Miami Heat, 26-19, after the first quarter. The Bulls went on a 17-5 run during the final minutes of the quarter and capped it with a Luol Deng three-pointer from beyond half court.

It was a rough start for the Bulls, who missed their first nine shots and were 2-of-16 at one point. But they recovered and are 9-of-24. Deng leads the team with nine points, while Derrick Rose has a team-high four rebounds.

The Heat have had issues rebounding in the quarter, usually tipping the ball around instead of taking control of it. The Bulls have been able to pull down seven of their 13 rebounds on the offensive glass. The Heat have also committed a six turnovers and several fouls early on.
