As if losing Game 1 to the Atlanta Hawks wasn't bad enough, things got worse for the Chicago Bulls when likely league MVP Derrick Rose twisted his ankle on the game's final play as Atlanta's Jamal Crawford dribbled out the clock. Rose closed out on Crawford and slightly stepped on his foot while rolling his ankle in the process. Rose immediately limped away and had to be helped off the court and to the locker room following the game.
Rose originally hurt his ankle during Chicago's first round series against Indiana. He went to the locker room to have the ankle checked out in that game but later returned. Rose appeared to wear down some in that first round series as he was forced to carry a heavy burden offensively. This ankle injury appears to be something that will linger on throughout the rest of the playoffs. With home court advantage lost to the Hawks, Chicago can ill-afford to lose Rose now for any significant time.
