The Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks have been locked in a tight battle throughout Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Tuesday night. It's been back-and-forth, with neither team able to pull-away and take any sort of comfortable lead. Every possession has been a battle and few shots have gone up uncontested, including the one LeBron James hit to close the third quarter.
James cares not for the Dallas defense in his face and buries a fall-away jumper for three as time expired in the third to give the Heat a four-point lead over the Mavs, 65-61. It was one of those shots you try during a game of horse, if the opponent is allowed to contest shots and generally make life incredibly difficult for the shooter.
Via Blazers Edge again.
Miami has been relying heavily on the three-pointer throughout Game 1, and while the rest of the team has been hit-and-miss, LeBron has been perfect from downtown, including this buzzer-beater. Say what you want about the man and The Decision, he sure can play some ball.
