VIDEO: LeBron James Mumbles 'That's Retarded' During Post-Game Press Conference

Stay connected with SB Nation

For the second time this year, an NBA mega-star has been caught on camera using speech that could easily be deemed offensive or hateful. First it was Kobe Bryant, who mouthed "fa***t" at a referee during an especially heated moment in April. This time, it was LeBron James during a post-game press conference after the Miami Heat fell to the Boston Celtics in Game 3 of their NBA playoff series.

As James and Dwyane Wade sat at the podium, a reporter asked whether the Heat may be considered dirty after Wade got tangled up with Rajon Rondo, and the subsequent fall resulted in a dislocated elbow for the Celtics' guard. After Wade asked the reporter who thinks his play is dirty, she attempted to clarify before James muttered "that's retarded" under his breath and into a hot microphone.

The video of the moment in question can be seen below. As it happened, James and Wade were being broadcast live on ESPN to a wide audience.

So we ask: Considering the context of the two incidents -- Kobe Bryant's during a game' and LeBron James' in a press conference -- which one is worse?
