The Memphis Grizzlies got exactly the start they were looking for as they lead Oklahoma City 28-16 after one quarter of play. Kendrick Perkins was saddled with two personal fouls after just five minutes of action and the Grizzlies have taken advantage of his absence inside. Marc Gasol leads the way with 12 points and two rebounds for Memphis. Zach Randolph and Tony Allen pitched in six points apiece for the Grizzlies who hit 52 percent of their shots in the first quarter.
Memphis has been solid defensively thus far forcing the Thunder into some tough shots and turnovers. Oklahoma City committed seven turnovers in the first quarter and just look a little out of sync with what they want to do offensively. Kevin Duran and Serge Ibaka have five points each while Russell Westbrook tossed in four. The Thunder missed all five of its three-point attempts in the opening quarter.
