VIDEO: Dirk Nowitzki Butchers 'We Are The Champions' At Mavericks' Parade

Dirk Nowitzki is probably the best basketball player on the planet right now after he led the Dallas Mavericks to the 2011 NBA title. It's a good thing he's good at basketball, because his audition to be a professional singer during the Mavericks' parade failed miserably. Mark Cuban asked everyone to quiet down so Nowitzki could sign "We Are The Champions," and Dirk responded with that.

Of course, parades are about people doing embarrassing things and getting cheered for it, so everyone correctly cheered Nowitzki for his valiant attempt to channel idol David Hasselhoff. It really was hilarious more than anything, especially because Dirk definitely sounds impaired in some way.

Then again, when Cuban gave Dirk the mic, I figured we'd hear a German song or something by Hasselhoff himself. If Nowitzki would have sung "Looking For Freedom" instead of "We Are The Champions," we never would have heard the end of it.
