John Kuester Out As Detroit Pistons Coach After Conflicting Reports

The Detroit Pistons and coach John Kuester are parting ways, Yahoo! Sports Marc J. Spears reported Sunday. This comes a week after ESPN and CBS Sports agreed to disagree on whether Kuester was in the process of being fired by Detroit or not.

Kuester thus looks to continue his tradition of landing new employment every couple seasons or so, as the Pistons job was his seventh of the past decade. The team went 57-107 during Kuester's two seasons, the latter of which was riddled with rumors of a near-mutiny by players and camera shots of Pistons openly laughing at their coach.

This was Kuester's first NBA head coaching job and his first top job anywhere since leaving George Washington University in 1990. He's worked seven stints as a NBA assistant coach in the interim.
