Shaquille O'Neal made his television debut on Tuesday, popping on via satellite to discuss the unveiling of the 2011-12 NBA schedule on NBATV. Sporting a mustache that I really hope he makes his signature fashion statement, Shaq didn't really rock the boat too much, with the exception of pretending to file a lawsuit against Steve Smith and Antonio Davis because they stole his basketball moves. Oh, and he also became the 523rd person to ignore Chris Bosh in a discussion about the Miami Heat.
"The Miami Heat, they've got a lot of great players, the ‘Big Two.' They will be back. LeBron James is taking a lot of criticism, but I know LeBron very well. He hears everything that everyone is saying, so I think he's going to come back and have an MVP year this year."
Obviously, there's a certain someone missing in that "Big 2" statement, which was pointed out by Antonio Davis to Shaq. Shaq's response was to smile and say he didn't want to be accused of starting something up.
Honestly, though, is it really that controversial to say that Miami has a Big 2 -- the two best players in basketball, arguably -- and then Bosh? Maybe if you're Ira Winderman. Otherwise? It's kind of true, and it's not even really a huge slight against Chris Bosh.
