As if we needed another to be jealous of J.J. Barea's inexplicably charmed life... From Hoops Hype: "Jose Juan Barea's girlfriend, the former Miss Universe, is reportedly seven weeks pregnant. You do the math." ... Since it's summer, and we've got time, we did the math.
7 weeks from last night--when the news broke--was June 1st. On May 31st, the Mavericks got killed in Game 1 of the NBA Finals. Maybe his girlfriend, Zuleyka Rivera, helped ease the pain.
Or maybe it happened on June 2nd, after the Mavericks won Game 2 with that ridiculous comeback. That win certainly could've called for a little premature celebration, didn't it?
Either way, this much is certain: While J.J. Barea was busy frustrating the Heat and coming up huge in the biggest games of his life, he was also impregnating this lady. All in all, not a bad week... And yet another reason to be mystified by that tiny, misshapen magician in Dallas.
