A team from D.C. Kevin Durant and Brandon Jennings, will tip off against LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul of the Melo League in Baltimore on Tuesday for another round of rec league basketball.
Here's a shocker: people want to watch NBA stars like LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, Chris Paul and others play during the NBA lockout. That's a picture of the line waiting to hopefully buy tickets to the special D.C. vs. Baltimore showdown at Morgan State University. The gym holds only 4,500 seats, so there are going to be a lot of people leaving unhappy.
Given the ticket fiasco that took place in the D.C./Los Angeles showdown on August 20, this scene seems important to point out.
(via our Andrew Sharp, who did manage to get a ticket to the game).
The exhibition battle between a Baltimore team led by LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul and a Washington D.C. team featuring Kevin Durant, Brandon Jennings and DeMarcus Cousins has been locked in. The game will take place at 7 p.m. on Tuesday on the campus of Morgan State University.
Tickets will cost $40 for general admission and $100 for floor seats, according to Alex Kennedy of HoopsWorld. It will not be televised, so your only chance to see it is in person. Gates open at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, with the game likely being held at the Talmadge L. Hill Field House on the campus of Morgan State. The gym holds a capacity of about 4,500 people.
While the game will feature a D.C. team, it is not a game officially involving D.C.'s Goodman League going up against Baltimore's Melo League, according to commissioner Miles Rawls. It is merely an exhibition game, with proceeds going to Anthony's charity. This is unlike the August 20 game in Washington D.C. between the Goodman League and Los Angeles' Drew League, which featured Durant, John Wall, Jennings, Cousins and several other pros.

Summer league action will heat up again on August 30 when the Washington D.C.-based Goodman League takes on the Melo League on its home turf in Baltimore. The Goodman League all-stars -- led by the likes of Kevin Durant, John Wall, Brandon Jennings, DeMarcus Cousins and street-baller Hugh "Baby Shaq" Jones -- are coming off a win last weekend over the Los Angeles-based Drew League.
The matchup against the Melo League is intriguing not only for the regional bragging rights at stake, but for the star power being brought to the table. The Melo League will feature Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul and LeBron James, along with Josh Selby, Gary Neal and Donte Greene.
The Goodman League put on show for fans, taking down the Drew League 135-134 behind 44 points from Durant. A rematch is in the works, with Kobe Bryant potentially joining the Drew League for the game in L.A. In the mean time, we get to whet our appetites on Tuesday's serving of rec league basketball taking place in front of another small group of fans at the St. Frances Academy in Baltimore.
Unfortunately, a live stream will not be available. If you are in the Baltimore area, however, tickets can be purchased on game day. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. ET, gym doors open at 6 p.m.
