So, apparently Delonte wasn't kidding about delivering furniture for a living. As he tweeted this afternoon, "Having fun at my new job."
So I guess this is really happening, and we all need to come up with an excuse to order from Regency Furniture ASAP.
More photos after the jump.
"Me and the crew at Regency. It's been a long day."
"Just finished a big moving job."
This is like when Ron Artest applied for a job at Circuit City so that he could get an employee discount, except Delonte's actually working. The only true parallel is when former-Celtics MVP Dave Cowens became a cab driver back in the 1970s. As Cowens once told ESPN:
"I really wanted to show my buddy around Boston and thought it'd be a cool way and we'd have some fun," said Cowens, born in Newport, Ky. "We picked up a few fares. We took some long routes around the city. And no one recognized me."
Could that happen today?
"That was before cable television, before all these eyes on you off the court," said Cowens, who now works for the Detroit Pistons.
Oh, but it can happen today. And thanks to Delonte's Twitter account, we all got to experience it as it happens. Can't wait to hear about Regency Furniture Happy Hour later today. Delonte and the fellas just finished a big job. God knows they've earned it.
