Former NBA player and top five draft pick Darius Miles was arrested at Lambert Airport in St. Louis in early August, after he attempted to carry a loaded gun through airport security. St. Louis radio station KMOX is now reporting that Miles has been charged with a felony.
For Miles, a native of East St. Louis, the arrest is just the latest twist in a downward spiral that's engulfed him almost his entire career. He was drafted no. 3 overall by the L.A. Clippers in 2000, but since then, his career has been full of immaturity, mediocrity, and mistakes.
He averaged 10.1 points and 4.9 rebounds in a career that spanned Los Angeles, Cleveland, Portland, and Memphis over ten seasons in the NBA. However, he's been unable to find a place in the league since 2009.
Miles was also arrested in 2009 for driving with a suspended license and possession of marijuana.
