Kobe Bryant Makes A Meaningless Poll His Leroy Smith

Over the summer, 91 ESPN-associated writers, voices and TV folk decided to rank the top 500 players in the NBA. (Note: there are not 500 players in the NBA.) Kobe Bryant ended up No. 7, one of civilization's greatest injustices. Kobe noticed and decided to remind everyone of that fact after dropping 48 for the Lakers over the Suns on Tuesday. From Dave McMenamin:

Kobe alluded to the ESPN.com/NBA rankings after his 48 pts: "Not bad for the 7th best player in the league."

I look forward to Kobe asking the same rhetorical the next time he shoots 6-28.
