The Memphis Grizzlies are locked in a tight contest for control of the Southwest division, but its seven-game winning streak entering Tuesday night's game against the Portland Trail Blazers will be on the line. After starting the season with a 3-6 record, the Grizzlies have surged to the front of the division with a 10-6 record.
The Grizzlies are led by Rudy Gay's 18.9 points per game while Marc Gasol continues on his path to averaging a double-double for the season, which currently stands at 15.2 points and 10.6 rebounds. None of the starting five is slouch at scoring since they all average at least 11 points per contest.
The Trail Blazers, meanwhile, are looking to keep its superb home record intact as they are currently 7-1 at the Rose Garden. However, the team hasn't picked up much traction recently. Since snapping a three-game losing streak in the middle of the month, the team has alternated wins and losses. The good thing for the Blazers in this game is that it is the team's second straight home game, having defeated the Sacramento Kings on Monday.
