Andrew Bogut Injury: Bucks Center Out 8-12 Weeks With Fractured Ankle

Andrew Bogut will miss 8-12 weeks with a fractured ankle according to the Milwaukee Bucks. The worst case scenario could have the center missing the rest of the 2011-12 season. At best, Bogut would be able to return sometime in mid-March.

Bogut was forced to leave during the first period of Wednesday's win over the Houston Rockets with what was deemed at the time to be a sprained ankle. He was seen leaving the arena a walking boot, however, and further testing revealed that he had fractured his left ankle.

The impact on the Bucks could be immense. Bogut is first on the team with 8.3 rebounds and third with 11.3 points per game, and second with a 15.7 PER this season. Expect Drew Gooden to see his minutes extended with Bogut out, as well as more court time for Larry Sanders.

Andrew Bogut Injury: Bucks Center Fractures Ankle, Out Indefinitely

The Milwaukee Bucks won their seventh game of the season on Wednesday night, but may have lost Andrew Bogut for a lengthy period of time. In Milwaukee's 105-99 win over the Houston Rockets, Bogut got tangled up early, leaving the game in the first period with what was deemed a sprained ankle. He was seen in a boot after the game, but further tests revealed something a bit more significant than a sprain.

According to ESPN's Marc Stein, Bogut fractured his left ankle and will be out indefinitely.

Without being a medical expert, it would seem fair to assume Bogut will be on the shelf for quite some time. Ankle fractures are serious business and take quite some time to fully heal -- especially for an athlete, who puts plenty of strain on the joint.
