Heat Vs. Hawks: LeBron James And Miami Look To Avenge Last Loss

The Miami Heat will look to avenge their only loss of the season when they visit the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday night in the first game of a TNT doubleheader.

Jan 5, 2012 - The Miami Heat are off to an impressive 6-1 start through the early part of the NBA season with their lone loss coming earlier this week at home against the Atlanta Hawks. LeBron James and the rest of the Heat have a chance to avenge that loss on Thursday night, however, as they face off against the Hawks in the first game of a TNT doubleheader.

The Heat are dealing with some minor injuries, most importantly Dwyane Wade's left foot contusion, as the NBA season moves a bit too fast to allow any sort of healing in between games. James should be able to pick up the slack as he's averaging a league leading 29.9 points per game and maybe center Joel Anthony will make an impact, too, after being included on the NBA All-Star ballot.

As far as Atlanta is concerned, the Hawks will be looking to rebound following a heartbreaking loss to the Chicago Bulls earlier in the week after leading 56-42 heading into the fourth quarter. Joe Johnson will need to make a bigger impact in Thursday night's game after struggling his way to a 3-for-17 shooting effort in the loss to the Bulls.
