Eric Maynor will miss the rest of the season for the Oklahoma City Thunder after suffering a torn ACL.

Oklahoma City Thunder backup point guard Eric Maynor will miss the rest of the season, the team announced, after tearing his ACL on Saturday during an OKC win over the Houston Rockets. Maynor is a part of a deep Oklahoma City reserve core, providing solid, consistent play behind Russell Westbrook.

In his stead, the Thunder will rely on veteran Royal Ivey and Boston College rookie Reggie Jackson. Maynor had been averaging 15 minutes per game, similar to last season. The Thunder has two other key backcourt reserves in James Harden and sharpshooter Daequan Cook.

Maynor doesn't put up big numbers, but much of Western Conference leading OKC's quality comes from its depth; there are few minutes in a game in which the Thunder have subpar players on the court, something not every contender can say. The Thunder have a 7-2 record before Sunday's action.
