Kevin Love Is Kidding About Michael Beasley Being A Ballhog, Really

Say, the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Washington Wizards 93-72 in D.C. on Sunday. Say, the Wolves had 22 assists on 36 made field goals, leading coach Rick Adelman to tell reporters that the ball had moved much better in this game than in any game this season. Say, Michael Beasley sat out the game with an injury. Say, does anyone think those two realities are connected? Kevin Love, what say you?

From the great Jerry Zgoda of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune:

Timberwolves coach Rick Adelman emerged after Sunday's 93-72 victory ended their two-game losing streak and remarked how the ball moved better offensively against the Wizards that afternoon than it had before in this still young season. So with the starting lineup modified to compensate for the absence of injured Michael Beasley, just why was that?

"Um," Wolves forward Kevin Love said, "Mike being out?"

He smiled as he said that and then added "I'm just kidding" twice.

[...]

So ... was Love really kidding?

"You know, I defer," he said, looking away.

MIKE, HE'S JUST KIDDING! HE'S JUST KIDDING!
