Jamal Crawford scored 12 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter, including a go-ahead three-point play with under a minute left, to give the Los Angeles Clippers a 96-94 win over the Utah Jazz in one of seven preseason games played Monday night.
Blake Griffin led the team with 23 points, but Crawford showed why he has a reputation as a closer by being as clutch as one can be in a preseason matchup. The Jazz came back from an 11-point deficit while the majority of the Clips' closers rested, but Crawford made sure they held on.
Kyle Lowry made his debut for the Toronto Raptors after missing several games with a groin injury, and played well with 14 points and six rebounds as his team came from behind to beat the Washington Wizards 104-101. Fellow new acquisition Landry Fields led all scorers with 15 points, while the Wizards had balanced scoring with seven players in double digits, but nobody putting up more than 12 points.
Jeremy Lin looked comfortable with his new teammates in a 109-102 win for the Houston Rockets over the Memphis Grizzlies. Lin had only seven points, but dished out 12 assists against only two turnovers with Kevin Martin putting up 22 points on only 11 shots, hitting four of five threes. Mike Conley topped Memphis scorers with 18 points.
