Dwyane Wade injury update: Heat star plans to play in preseason

Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade plans to play in the preseason this year, despite still recovering from knee surgery over the summer. The guard participated in Heat practice for the second straight day, according to Ethan J. Skolnick of The Palm Beach Post:

"I've been doing everything I need to do," said Wade, who is nearly three months removed from knee surgery. "Every day is different, but if I feel good, I'll continue to go. If I feel like I need to not push it, then I will do that as well."

There has been speculation that his recovery from knee surgery would cause him to miss the Heat's entire preseason. Wade quashed those rumors during his interview with Skolnick but also acknowledged that he will not play in all eight games:

"I don't know where that came from," Wade said. "I will try a preseason game. At least one. It will be more than one. It won't be eight, but it will be more than one. If I continue to progress the way I've been progressing."

Wade hopes to participate in the team's scrimmage on Wednesday night.
