The Miami Heat have exercised their rookie-scale option on point guard Norris Cole.

Miami Heat point guard Norris Cole is going to be under contract for at least the next two seasons, as Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported on Tuesday.

Cole is set to make close to $1.2 million in the 2013-14 season, and $2.15 million the next season if the Heat exercise the option again. The 2014-15 season is also when the "Big Three" (LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh), along with veteran role players Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller, all have player options.

In his rookie campaign, the point guard out of Cleveland State averaged 6.8 points and 2 assists per game. He cooled off after having an outstanding start to the year, but everything ultimately worked out when the Heat celebrated an NBA title in June.

Cole served as the backup point guard to Mario Chalmers.
