How will his trade to the Thunder impact Jeremy Lamb's playing time this season?

While he wasn’t the biggest name featured in last night’s trade between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Houston Rockets, rookie guard Jeremy Lamb offers his new team significant talent. But how will the deal impact Lamb’s playing time this season?

The Rockets sent Lamb, fellow guard Kevin Martin, two first-round picks and a second-round pick to the Thunder for guards James Harden, Daequan Cook and Lazar Hayward and center Cole Aldrich.

The transaction completes a whirlwind past few months for the 20-year-old Lamb. After winning a National Championship as a member of the Kentucky Wildcats, he was selected 12th overall by the Rockets in the 2012 NBA Draft.

As a rookie, there was expected to be a learning curve for the gifted Lamb. Still, it was projected that he could potentially average 20 minutes of playing time per night with the Rockets this season. However, with the trade Oklahoma City, Lamb will have Martin and shooting guard Thabo Sefolosha ahead of him on the depth chart.

There’s no questioning his talent, and his size is certainly impressive, but his move to OKC may cause an immediate reduction to Lamb’s minutes.
