NBA schedule 2012: Grizzlies and Clippers headline busy night in NBA

Kevin C. Cox

The Grizzlies and Clippers begin the season with a rematch of their intense playoff series from last year, headlining a busy night in the NBA.

The NBA regular season officially opened on Tuesday night, but the majority of the league's season starts on Wednesday night during a busy nine game slate. The biggest matchup is arguably the Memphis Grizzlies going to LA to take on the Los Angeles Clippers in a playoff rematch between two teams that do not care for each other.

Here is the full schedule for Oct. 31st, courtesy of

Denver Nuggets at Philadelphia 76ers, 7 p.m. ET, CSN and Altitude Sports

The two other teams reshaped in the Dwight Howard trade square off to open the season, with Andre Iguodala starting the season against his old team.

Indiana Pacers at Toronto Raptors, 7 p.m. ET, TSN

The Pacers will try to prove last season wasn't a fluke, but start the year against a Raptors squad whose defense can make things difficult.

Houston Rockets at Detroit Pistons, 7:30 p.m. ET, Fox Sports Detroit

The Rockets begin the James Harden era against the Pistons, who are trying to build around the impressive young duo of Greg Monroe and Andre Drummond.

San Antonio Spurs at New Orleans Hornets, 8 p.m. ET, NBA TV

First overall pick Anthony Davis gets a tough test to begin his NBA career, as he'll go against the Spurs and Tim Duncan.

Sacramento Kings at Chicago Bulls, 8 p.m. ET, CSAC and WGN

The Bulls begin the season of trying to keep their head above water until Derrick Rose can return, and the Kings will begin another season of trying to figure out who they are as a team.

Dallas Mavericks at Utah Jazz, 9 p.m. ET, Fox Sports Southwest and Root Sports Rocky Mountain

The Mavs will try to build on their impressive opening night win over the Lakers, but have another tough test against a good Jazz team.

Golden State Warriors at Phoenix Suns, 10 p.m. ET, CBHD and FAHD

The Suns will begin life without Steve Nash, and host what should be a good Warriors team this season.

Los Angeles Lakers at Portland Trailblazers, 10:30 p.m. ET, NBA TV

The Lakers will try to bounce back from a disappointing loss to start the season when they travel up to Portland to take on the Blazers.

Memphis Grizzlies at Los Angeles Clippers, 10:30 p.m. ET, TSOH and FSW2

There won't be many pleasantries exchanged in this game between two teams that really, really do not like each other.
