Nuggets vs. Jazz final score: Utah rallies in second half to beat Denver 105-103

Russ Isabella-US PRESSWIRE

Al Jefferson, Derick Favors, and the Utah Jazz came back from a first half deficit to beat the Denver Nuggets 105-103.

The Utah Jazz rallied with an excellent second half to beat the Denver Nuggets 105-103.

Denver shot an incredible 73% in the first half, dominating the paint with 48 points. The Nuggets led 65-54 at halftime and seemed like they were in control of proceedings. But then the Nuggets gave up that lead in the third quarter thanks to a 30-19 run by Utah, and then ran out of steam in the fourth.

The Nuggets actually outshot the Jazz 54.8% to 46.2%, but only hit five threes compared to Utah's eight. Where Denver really doomed themselves was at the free throw line; the Nuggets shot 18 of 32 at the charity stripe, the Jazz 25 of 34.

Utah was led by Al Jefferson, who put up 28 points on 15 field goal attempts. Derrick Favors added 19 points and seven rebounds off the bench, Jamaal Tinsley put up 15 points, and Randy Foye chipped in 11.

Denver got plenty of production around the board, with Kenneth Faried putting up 21 points and nine rebounds. Ty Lawson added 16 points and nine assists, Danilo Gallinari and Corey Brewer each added a dozen points of their own, and Javale McGee and Andre Iguodala put in ten of their own.
