It is unknown whether the second-year forward will be available for Saturday's game against Utah, after an MRI confirmed a shoulder strain.

Houston Rockets forward Chandler Parsons has been diagnosed with a right shoulder strain after an MRI Thursday, according to the Houston Chronicle's Jonathan Feigen. Parsons played 42 minutes for the Rockets on Tuesday without incident, then was absent from Houston's loss Wednesday to Oklahoma City. The team has listed the forward as day-to-day.

Parsons is in his second season with the Rockets after being taken in the second round of the 2011 NBA Draft. The 6'9 Florida product played 28.6 minutes per game as a rookie, averaging 9.5 points per game. In 2012, he has become a key component of the Houston offense, scoring 15.7 points per game and adding 7.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists per contest. Parsons scored 31 on 13-17 shooting in Houston's surprising 131-103 win over the New York Knicks on Friday.

Daequan Cook is expected to continue to play in Parsons' absence, as he did in Wednesday's game.
