The rumor mill is starting fast after the Los Angeles Lakers fired Mike Brown earlier Friday following the team's 1-4 start.
CBS Sports reported that the Lakers' short list for coaching replacement is a veritable who's who of veteran, out of work coaches. The first replacement to come to the tip of many a tongue with sway within the organization is ex-Lakers head coach Phil Jackson.
But he isn't the only one. In fact, Magic Johnson tweeted he would also love to see Jackson -- who says he'd like to return to coaching -- or Brian Shaw on the sidelines and wished Pat Riley is available. Shaw is currently an associate coach for the Indiana Pacers and Pat Riley is team president of the Miami Heat.
According to Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak, the Lakers will look harder at coaches who are not currently employed.
Jackson coached the Lakers until the 2010-2011 season after winning five championships with the Lakers to add to the six he had won with the Jordan-era Chicago Bulls.
