Manu Ginobili injury: Spurs G hurts thigh

Dude! You know the drill! This is where you're supposed to get up. - Soobum Im-USA TODAY Sports

San Antonio Spurs guard Manu Ginobili injures himself in an attempt to win Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical.

The old saying 'karma is a ... ' was not lost on San Antonio Spurs guard Manu Ginobili. Ginobili has a reputation around the NBA of being somewhat theatrical on the court. This was no different Saturday night against the Boston Celtics; except this time, it came with a different result and it wasn't an Oscar.

After brushing past Celtics' center Chris Wilcox, Ginobili catapulted backwards and down to the ground. He is seen writhing around the ground, grabbing his thigh, and needed to be helped off the court. He would not return to the game.

NESN provides visual evidence of the incident leading to the injury:

Spurs coach Greg Popovich told reporters Manu suffered a 'thigh contusion above his knee' and will be really, really sore for the next few days. He's reported to be doubtful for the Spurs' next game.

Not good news for Spurs fans as San Antonio heads to Oklahoma City Monday night for a showdown with the Thunder. The Spurs have two more losses and are one game back of the 19-4 Thunder. To add insult to injury (pun intended), OKC is on an incredible 10-game win streak.
