Stoudemire has missed the entire season with a knee injury, but could be nearing a return soon.
The New York Knicks are off to a great start this season, and they've done so without one of more talented forwards in the league. Amar'e Stoudemire is yet to play this year with a knee ailment, although one report is suggesting he could be nearing a return shortly.
According to a tweet from Ken Berger of CBS Sports, Stoudemire will practice with the Knicks D-League team this week. It is unclear when he will return to the Knicks regular practices.
There have been many discussions over which role Stoudemire will play once he returns with the Knicks. He has welcomed the idea of being a sixth man off the bench, although it would be a tough sell to management given the maximum deal they handed out to Stoudemire last year. There's also a chance he returns to the starting lineup, although coach Mike Woodson may not want to risk tampering with the team's chemistry after a strong start to the season.
