The Minnesota Timberwolves ended the 12-game winning streak of the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday and also ended their own 12-game losing streak to OKC.
The Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 99-93 Thursday, ending Oklahoma City's 12-game winning streak. The win also broke Minnesota's own 12-game losing streak to the Thunder.
The Thunder struggled against Minnesota's front line. Forward Kevin Love had 28 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists and also shot 4-for-8 from three-point range. Center Nikola Pekovic had 24 points on 10 for 18 shooting and also added 10 rebounds and two blocks. Guard J.J. Barea scored 18 points off the bench. Barea was 7-for-12 from the field and 3-for-4 from three-point range.
Kevin Durant led all scorers with 33 points. He also had seven rebounds and six assists and shot 12-for-20. The Timberwolves forced Russell Westbrook into a bad shooting night. Westbrook scored 30 points, but he shot just 9-for-28. He had nine assists, but also turned the ball over eight times.
Durant and Westbrook are the only two teammates who average more than 20 points per game this season.
