Derrick Rose's is one step closer to returning to action as he continues to recover from a torn ACL he suffered during the first round of the playoffs last May. According to Seth Gruen the Chicago Sun-Times, Rose participated in the non-contact portion of Chicago Bull practice Thursday.
According to Bulls guard Nate Robinson, Rose participated in shooting drills with the rest of the team. Head coach Tom Thibodeau was quick to caution Rose still has a lot to do before he gets back on the court, adding that the former MVP won't travel with the team on their upcoming road trip to New York and Atlanta.
‘‘The thing is he still has a lot that he has to do in terms of his rehab,'' Thibodeau said. ‘‘So once he gets that cleared up a little bit more, then he may travel more with us. It depends on what's best for him and what's best for our team. So we just have to be patient. He's doing fine.''
Thibodeau did not give a time a timetable on Rose's return. The Bulls have played well without Rose, leading the Central Division with a 14-10 record.
