It didn't take the Miami Heat long to let the Dallas Mavericks know that it was going to be a long night.
The Miami Heat dismantled the Dallas Mavericks on TNT on Tuesday, 110-95, to improve to 17-6.
The Heat led by 16 points after the first half and by 30 after three quarters. Miami was steadied by LeBron James' 24 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Chris Bosh added 17 points on 8-for-14 shooting and seven rebounds while Dwyane Wade finished with 19 points and five assists.
The Mavericks struggled all game, shooting a paltry 38.5 percent from the field. The Heat held the Mavericks' leading scorer, O.J. Mayo, to just eight points on 3-for-14 shooting. Dallas was led by Jae Crowder's 15 points off the bench.
The Heat were splendid on offense, shooting 53.8 percent from the field, hitting 10 threes and 16 of 18 free throws. Normally a poor rebounding team, the Heat outrebounded the Mavs, 47-36.
The loss dropped the Mavericks to 12-14 on the season as they are still playing without the services of Dirk Nowitzki.
