Chicago's Loul Deng injured his shoulder on Friday and will be further evaluated on Saturday.
Luol Deng scored 29 points in Chicago's 110-106 win against the New York Knicks on Friday, but it wasn't all good news for Deng. He injured his shoulder during the third quarter and despite returning to the game, said the shoulder was soreafter the game and would need further evaluation.
The injury occurred when Deng got tangled with New York's Jason Kidd as Deng attempted to go up for a shot. He said he felt pain right away in his shoulder and checked out of the game. While he feared it was disclotated, it was not and he returned to the game shortly after. After the game, Deng said he wasn't sure what the issue, he said it felt like a pulled muscle or sprained tendon.
Chicago is scheduled to play the Atlanta Hawks Saturday night and Deng said the plan is to see how it feels in the morning and go from there. He said he wasn't sure if the injury would require him to undergo an MRI. With Derrick Rose yet to play this season, the 27-year-old Deng leads the Bulls in scoring at 17.7 points per game.
