The Oklahoma City Thunder improved to 17-4 on Wednesday evening with a 95-86 victory over the Dallas Mavericks. Russell Westbrook led the way with 33 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. That effort keeps the Thunder atop the NBA standings with the best win percentage, but one victory behind the Chicago Bulls' 18.
Outside of Westbrook, the Thunder received 23 points and 13 rebounds from Kevin Durant. Serge Ibaka was a beast around the glass with six on the offensive boards and five on his opponent's board. He blocked 10 shots, a new career high.
The Mavericks, on the other hand, didn't have as many dominant performances as the Thunder did. Shawn Marion scored 12 points and grabbed 10 boards while Jason Terry scored 25 points from off the bench. Dirk Nowitzki had a rough night by shooting 2-of-15 from the field with misses on all five of his three-point attempts. Nowitzki finished with eight points and eight rebounds.
The Thunder return home for a Friday contest against the Memphis Grizzlies while the Mavericks stay at home to host the Indiana Pacers on Friday.
