Jeremy Lin's Fourth-Quarter Magic Pulls In Big Ratings

Stay connected with SB Nation

Thanks to the global phenomenon that is Jeremy Lin, it seems like every time the New York Knicks play lately, every eye in the country is watching. That may not necessarily be the case, but it appears that Linsanity is generating monster ratings in the Knicks' hometown market, if nowhere else.

John Ourand of the Sports Business Journal reports that the MSG Network pulled in a huge rating during Lin's fourth-quarter comeback and subsequent last-second game-winner over the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday night. During the 9:30 p.m. ET quarter-hour, the game registered a 7.8 average household rating.

By comparison, the first 20 Knicks games of the season -- the "pre-Lin" era -- averaged a 1.81 rating. The games since Lin joined the team (before Tuesday night, at least) have averaged 3.08.
