Jeremy Lin's Stats Vs. Kings Establish Career-High 13 Assists

Jeremy Lin continued his electrifying storm through the NBA with a 13-assist night for the New York Knicks in a 100-85 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday. He broke his previous career high in assists, 11, just one game after setting it.

Lin scored just 10 points, snapping a six-game streak of 20 or more points, but this game didn't require a superhuman effort of 38 points, which he put up against the Los Angeles Lakers a few days ago. Still, Lin was efficient scoring his points, doing it on 4-of-6 shots from the field and 2-of-3 free throws.

Lin did see his fewest minutes so far since emerging on the international scene, playing just 26 minutes. He had played no less than 36 minutes in each of the previous six games. He will have Thursday off before playing the New Orleans Hornets on Friday, providing him with enough time to recuperate and get back those minutes he didn't have against the Kings.

The Knicks also got 14 points from Bill Walker and Steve Novak, two reserve who average six points per game this season. Amar'e Stoudemire and Iman Shumpert both added 11 points, while Jared Jeffries added 10 points on a night where the Knicks were 39-of-77 (.506) from the floor and held a 48-35 edge on rebounds.

PHOTO: Linderella Sign Is A Pretty Good One

Brianheadshot_medium

We've seen just about every Jeremy Lin pun at this point and all of them have been run into the ground posthaste. But this one, on a sign created by a New York Knicks fan, is pretty neat. It's a play on Cinderella and involves a bit of user participation.

VIDEO: Mike Tyson's Halftime Interview Was A Mess

Brianheadshot_medium

Interviewing Mike Tyson at halftime of Wednesday night's Knicks-Kings game was probably a bad idea. MSG decided to go ahead with it anyway, and the results were about as predictable as can be. The interview featured Tyson mumbling, bumbling and stumbling, with the added bonus of a stray curse word thrown in.

It started off well enough, with Tyson saying he could sing, then sidestepping a question about whether he'd be willing to belt out a tune on the spot. Then he took a question about the dumbest money he ever spent and dropped an s-bomb on air. The curse word came after he rambled about, saying anything on which he had ever spent money was dumb.

Video after the jump.

It's Not Isiah Thomas, Knicks Fans

Brianheadshot_medium

There's an important difference between Sacramento Kings rookie Isaiah Thomas and former New York Knicks executive Isiah Thomas. Notice the lack of a second 'a' in Zeke's first name. Also note the height difference.

Now note the bitterness.

Isaiah Thomas is actually named after Isiah Thomas. But still, go easy on the young man.

Walt Frazier Is With You, Leather

Keeley_medium

Last week, Walt Frazier threw the NBA announcing personality suit gauntlet down (in Craig Sager's general direction) with a cow-mouflage suit for the ages.

For tonight's game between the Sacramento Kings and New York Knicks, Frazier kept his cow motif alive with a brown leather jacket that I like to call "The Rocketeer."

Knicks Vs. Kings: Game Time, TV Coverage And More

Sacramento Kings, get ready to witness the Linsanity in person when you take on the New York Knicks Wednesday night.

Jeremy Lin scored 27 points with a career-high 11 assists and now has 136 points in his first five games as a starter, eclipsing Shaquille O'Neal's 129 for the most since the NBA/ABA merger. He is averaging 27.2 ppg in his first five starts and 26.8 points over the last six contests. Lin's play overshadowed the return of Knicks power forward Amare Stoudemire, who missed the previous four games to deal with the untimely death of his brother. Stoudemire added 21 points and nine rebounds for the Knicks, who are one game below the .500 mark.

Tyson Chandler chipped in 13 points and nine rebounds for New York. The Knicks have won three in a row at home, are 7-7 as the host this season and will also welcome the Hornets, Mavericks, Nets and Hawks to MSG. They are hoping to get forward Carmelo Anthony back soon from a strained groin. 'Melo is averaging 22.3 points this season and has missed four straight contests.

Meanwhile, the Kings' six-game road trip didn't get off to a great start with last night's 121-115 loss at Chicago. The Bulls were without reigning MVP Derrick Rose because of a nagging back issue.

DeMarcus Cousins had 28 points and 17 rebounds, while Tyreke Evans added 27 points. Marcus Thornton also had 23 for Sacramento, which fell to 3-13 as the visitor and has lost three of four games since a three-game winning streak.

The Kings have won four in a row and six of seven trips to MSG.

Location: Madison Square Garden, New York, NY

Game Time: 7:30 p.m. EST

TV: Comcast Sports Net (Sacramento); MSG Network (New York)

Odds: Knicks by 7
