Russell Westbrook really wanted to put someone on a poster early in Sunday night's matchup between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Denver Nuggets. And Westbrook had a pretty decent chance to throw down a big dunk in the lane, but Kenneth Faried had a few other ideas. The result was a showdown at the rim, with Faried coming out on top.
It wasn't quite a vicious block, but Faried went up high to keep Westbrook from dunking. A GIF of the block is after the jump.
Both these two can get up, creating quite the battle under the hoop.
