Hughes came off the bench in that game, playing 14 minutes and scoring two points on 1-of-4 shooting. The move opens up a roster spot and the Magic are expected to quickly bring up a replacement.
The official team site confirmed the news on Wednesday night.
Following tonight's game vs. Washington, the Orlando Magic have waived guard Larry Hughes, President of Basketball Operations/GM Otis Smith announced. Orlando's roster now stands at 14 players.

As for the replacement, Marc Spears reports Ish Smith is expected to join the Magic on Thursday.
