Say what you will about the state of magazines, but the cover of Sports Illustrated still holds a good amount of value in the sports world. To make it once is a sign that you've arrived. To make it in back-to-back weeks? Well, you must be doing something very special.

Which brings us to New York Knicks guard Jeremy Lin, who did just that.

Lin's repeat appearance on SI's cover follows his debut last week on the front of the Feb. 20, 2012 edition. previous Sports Illustrated cover.

The last athlete to grace two consecutive SI covers? Dirk Nowitzki, who doubled up last year summer on the June 13, 2011, and June 20, 2011, issues as his Dallas Mavericks were winning the NBA title.

As is the case in so many categories, Lin still has a long way to go if he ever wants to catch Michael Jordan. "His Airness" went back-to-back-to-back not once but twice during his illustrious career, in June 1991 and June 1998, according to SI's gallery of MJ covers). Jordan also graced 57 total covers, so, keep it up Lin.
