Three men have been arrested in Orlando for selling fake NBA All-Star hats and T-shirts, according to the Orlando Sentinel. Citing police reports, the Sentinel's Jeff Weiner wrote that Willard Turner Jr., 58, David Turner, 47, and Donald Gardener, 25, were caught selling All-Star gear near Boone Avenue and South Street.
Reports state the arrests came in an "anti product counterfeiting operation" by police, the Department of Homeland Security and National Basketball Association investigators.
The men fled on foot, according to police, but were caught by other Orlando officers nearby. All three were arrested and jailed on charges related to trademark counterfeiting.
The hats and T-shirts the men were selling featured the NBA and All-Star logos, all trademarked material. No word on whether David Stern described their punishment as being "a nuclear winter" for the three men, but sources say their meeting should be breaking up soon, and there has been no deal.
