Greg Oden Injury Update: Portland Trail Blazers' Center To Undergo Arthroscopic Surgery On Right Knee

Stay connected with SB Nation

Greg Oden's injury problems have continued. The Portland Trail Blazers center, who has missed most of the team's games during his four-plus year career, will undergo another procedure on his right knee, the team announced on Friday. Via SB Nation's Blazers blog Blazers Edge:

The Portland Trail Blazers announced on Friday that center Greg Oden will undergo an arthroscopic procedure on his right knee in Vail, CO, today to remove debris. Oden had microfracture surgery on his right knee in September 2007.

Oden's most recent injuries have been on his left knee, but Blazers general manager Chad Buchanan told Blazers Edge that Oden may undergo a similar procedure on that knee as well, though that is "still to be determined." The Blazers had previously announced that Oden had suffered a "setback" that caused them to be "hopeful, but less confident" that Oden will play this season.

Oden has played in just 82 of a possible 351 games in his NBA career after being the No. 1 overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft.
