With the emergence of rookie Kyrie Irving, the Cleveland Cavaliers seem open to trading point guard Ramon Sessions, with teams like the Los Angeles Lakers expressing interest. The Cavaliers appear to be seeking a first-round pick in return for Sessions, according to Bob Finnan of the News-Herald:
That's one reason you'll hear Sessions' name a lot in trade talks, as evidenced by recent rumors of the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks inquiring about his services. The Cavs want a first-round pick in exchange for Sessions.
Sessions is expected to opt out of the final year of his contract this summer, which would have paid him $4.6 million, Finnan reports. He's currently averaging nine points and 4.9 assists per game in 22.6 minutes per game. He is also just 25 years old and has been a starter before, so team starving for guard help could certainly use him.
