Kevin Love Suspended Two Games For Stomping On Luis Scola, League Announces

Minnesota Timberwolves star Kevin Love has been suspended for two games for stepping on Houston Rockets forward Luis Scola in the Timberwolves' 100-91 win over the Rockets on Saturday night, the NBA announced. The league declared that Love's stomp was not accidental in making its decision.

The suspension came because Love was "driving his foot into the upper body and face" of Scola on the play, the league announced in its press release. Watch video of the play here.

The suspension means Love will miss games against the Sacramento Kings at home on Tuesday and the Memphis Grizzlies on the road on Wednesday. He is slated to return for Friday's home game against the Dallas Mavericks.

Love is a likely all-star selection, averaging 25 points and 13.6 rebounds per game in helping the Timberwolves to a 12-12 record under new coach Rick Adelman.
