Considering how tight the NBA's Western Conference is expected to be, this will probably piss off a few Portland Trail Blazers fans:
Close call in Portland last night but w/ benefit of slow motion replay, goaltending was incorrect call; see it here NBA.com/official
— NBA Official (@NBAOfficial) February 7, 2012
The play in question is below the jump.
If that play is called correctly, the Blazers almost certainly win the game. If the Blazers win the game, they are tied with the Denver Nuggets for fourth place in the West. Because they lost the game, they are now in a three-way tie for eighth place. It's early, but these things matter, and they will matter down the stretch with as many as 11 teams in playoff contention.
The NBA probably can't replay the final 10 seconds of this game, but that's probably the only way Blazers fans can live with the call being messed up.
