Around SBN: Celtics Seething Over Embarrassing Loss

2012 NBA All-Star Game Rosters To Be Announced Thursday

The reserves for the 2012 NBA All-Star Game will be announced at 7 p.m. ET during a special on NBA TV on Thursday. Ernie Johnson, Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith and Shaq will host the special before TNT's usual Thursday night double-header, which this week features the Lakers vs. the Celtics and the Thunder visiting the Kings.

Three of those teams (sorry, Sactown) feature players who could hear their name called when All-Star reserves are announced. NBA head coaches recently voted for seven reserves in each conference to fill out the All-Star rosters. In the East, those elected will join LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard and Derrick Rose. In the West, the starters will be Kobe Bryant, Chris Paul, Andrew Bynum, Kevin Durant and Chris Paul.

The Celtics will be waiting to see if Paul Pierce and Rajon Rondo, both of whom missed stretches this season due to injury, make the East squad. The Lakers will be looking for a bid for Pau Gasol. The Thunder hope to land both Russell Westbrook and James Harden in the game. The Kings are holding out hope for DeMarcus Cousins or Travis Outlaw.

The 2012 NBA All-Star Game will be played on Sunday, February 26, at the Amway Center in Orlando.
