Chris Bosh will miss Thursday and Friday's Heat games due to the death of his grandmother.
The Miami Heat will be without center Chris Bosh Thursday and Friday night due to "personal reasons," the team announced via Twitter on Thursday evening. The Miami Herald is reporting that Bosh will miss time due to the death of his grandmother.
The Heat travel to take on the Portland Trailblazers Thursday evening and then visit the Utah Jazz on Friday. Miami doesn't play on Saturday, but will take on the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday. It's unknown if Bosh will be back for that game.
The NBA All-Star is averaging 18.4 points and 8.3 rebounds per game for the Heat this season. He has played in and started all 34 games for Miami so far this year.
Miami went 3-2 without Bosh in the lineup last year.
Udonis Haslem is expected to start for Bosh in his absence. Haslem was previously a starter for the Heat before the arrival of LeBron James and Bosh.
