Celtics Vs. Lakers: Schedule, TV Info And More

The Celtics and Lakers reignite their storied rivalry Sunday afternoon with a new twist — both teams are scrambling for playoff position.

Two teams trying to cling to the glory years of 2010 face off in the NBA's vaunted Sunday Showcase on ABC when the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers continue the league's most storied rivalry. The Celtics and Lakers' best days are pretty much behind them at this point, but there's still no love lost between these two, and Kobe Bryant and Rajon Rondo love performing on a national stage.

In the midst of all the March Madness hullabaloo, attention has been diverted from the Celtics' and Lakers' slide from the elite teams of the NBA. The Lakers have been overtaken in their division by the Los Angeles Clippers despite the season-ending injury to Chauncey Billups, and the Celtics are scratching and clawing with the New York Knicks for the Eastern Conference's final playoff spots. Because of the two teams' surprising mediocrity and the lockout-shortened season, every game the Celtics and Lakers play has increased importance, and this one is no different.

Game Date/Time: Sunday, 3:30 p.m. ET

Location: Staples Center, Los Angeles

TV: ABC (National)
