The hot NBA trade rumor of Tuesday involved the Golden State Warriors sending Monta Ellis to the Orlando Magic in a complicated three-team scenario that could have landed them Milwaukee Bucks center Andrew Bogut. However, it appears the deal is dead because Warriors owner Joe Lacob has no interest surrendering Ellis, according to CBS Sports' Ken Berger.
Despite Orlando's efforts to appease Dwight Howard by acquiring Monta Ellis, GSW owner Joe Lacob has no interest in the deal, sources say.

The reason, according to Berger, is that Lacob is still holding out hope that the Warriors themselves can acquire Howard and convince him to stay there long-term. Howard has never listed the Bay Area as one of his preferred destinations, so the chance of this happening are slim. Nevertheless, Lacob would rather take that chance than deal away what he believes is his best player.
