Dwight Howard may have said he was "all in" for this year. He may, or may not, have also said he's "all in" for next season. But it doesn't mean a thing until his commitment is down on paper. And now, according to a report on Wednesday evening, Howard will not sign the opt-in clause.

This wasn't necessarily a change of heart, though. A lot of reports were flying around earlier on Wednesday, indicating everything from a team meeting that implied Howard was ready to come back for next season to a firm stance on the same matter. These reports were later refuted, and the Orlando Magic were reportedly waiting for Howard to put something on paper as a guarantee of his intentions.
In the meantime, one would have to imagine Orlando is continuing to explore every trade avenue possible with less than 24 hours to go until the deadline.
