Derrick Rose has a groin injury and will not be able to help the Bulls on Wednesday night, as they try to protect first place in the East against the Heat.

The Chicago Bulls have the best record in the Eastern Conference and they have won their last two games, but they face a tough task on Wednesday as they try to extend that winning streak. They are without starting point guard and defending league MVP Derrick Rose, and the Miami Heat are coming to town.

LeBron James was spectacular in Miami's win over the Bulls in their first meeting of the season on Jan. 29, scoring 35 points in the Heat's 97-93 win. Unlike the Eastern Conference finals, during which James shut down Rose for much of the series, Rose was his team's top performer, scoring 34 points in that game. Chicago will need to find a way to score without Rose, who will sit out Wednesday with a groin injury.

C.J. Watson and John Lucas were competent deputies when Rose missed time earlier in the season, but there is an obvious drop-off in talent and ability from each of them to Rose, on both ends of the floor.

Game Date/Time: Wednesday, March 14, 9:30 p.m. ET

Venue: United Center, Chicago, Illinois

TV: ESPN

Online: ESPN3
